Through my nineteen years growing up into adulthood I have learned much to better myself. The person who I feel gave me the best influence is my father. He has taught me that there are no shortcuts in life and if you do something you must follow through with it one hundred percent. The maltese and italian culture are very hardworking. Almost every weekend in the summer when it’s hot as hell my father wants to go outside in our yard and clean up. This means trimming the tall green hedges, cutting the fine grass, planting flowers in the moist dirt, and much more. It is not easy work. But me and my father do it together. From the foods I eat to the places I go. To the way I talk and the way I move. My mind is hardwired to follow in my cultures footsteps. I find myself everyday moving my hands when I talk, a little action for when I speak to give more expressive emotion. It’s funny to realize how all of this has been passed on through generations of generations, now to me. Clothes I wear represent my classy culture, to remind me of culture I wear a gold cross necklace passed down to my father and now to me. One day I will put it around my sons neck. When my dads side of the family go out everybody wears the same thing, the women in beautiful lively dresses and then the men in a half buttoned woven shirt to show there there chest and jewelry around their neck.
