Malignant Melanoma is a cancer that starts in melanocytes which is where cells produce the brown pigment, Melanin. Melanoma can spread to affect the lymphatic system and can run through the bloodstream. The lymphatic system includes lymph, lymph nodes, vessels, and tissues. Some of these areas such as vessels and tissue are throughout the body, and Melanoma can end up in random spots like ears, arms, and shoulders. The origin of nature and treatment and or prevention can include wearing sunblock when going to the beach or being in the sun for little periods of a time. More ways to avoid the sun and having occurring melanoma is staying in shade, wearing a hat, long sleeves, and avoiding UV hours. (CDC, 2013) The background
