“In 2009, a total of 2,989 males committed suicide (17.9 deaths per 100,000) compared to 901 females (5.3 deaths per 100,000). As these data show, males were three times more likely to commit suicide than females.” (Statistics Canada 2012). Some people might wonder that why those people are so silly to end of his or her life. Suicide is a complex mental action, one who voluntary take a variety of ways to end their lives. Also, why the data indicated the suicide rate males are higher than females? Based on the rapidly changing social environment, the individual might face are a number of pressures and unable adapt to the society. Men are not good at expressing themselves easily lead to interpersonal problems and influence their social networking; on the other hand, women are good at socialize and share their feelings with others and build up relationship with them. Therefore, women’s suicide less than men. Anne and Steven point out that “Involvement in aggression in turn is associated with adherence to an instrumental social representation of aggression which justifies aggression as a means of imposing control over others and increasing self-esteem.” There were always happen in the work” (Wiley 1997). In the traditional social values, men work outside and women take care with their children and stay at home. Due to men have the number of things to do and face different challenges and judgements. Women are more careful and less pressure in their life. When women encounter some problems or sadness, they would like to share and talk with friends. As the result, women are lower suicide rate that men. Also, political and economic situation in turmoil, it will lead to poor social environment and rise the unemployment rate. Due to the social environment changes, chronic illness, emotional factors , economic, that leading people to suicide rates to increase. Based on each individual is an absence of objective circumstances, men might take advantage of others as to compare to themselves.
