Rape in Bigger’s eyes is something that happens when someone who has been subjected to some type of oppressions becomes an oppressor. This parallels with the notion that most sexual assaulters were exposed to unwarranted attention at some point or another in their youth. But as time goes on, if nothing changes about the way this subject is handled both on a local, national, and even worldwide level, things will only get worse. Just think: a man you know, perhaps an acquaintance, friend, or even relative, could be a sexual assault victim and not feel as though he will find the justice he seeks. He may not even think he deserves justice because of how corrupt our minds have become due to the immense power of stereotypes. On every continent, in every country, hundreds or thousands of people are living in fear and suffering because they feel as though can’t speak up about the very personal crimes committed towards them.
