First, the author points out that in December 1953, a year after getting out of prison, Malcolm X was named the minister of the Nation of Islam (NOI) Boston Mosque. This was important because after seven years of spending time in jail for vandalism/breaking things and robbery.he still had a good life afterwards because he turned his life around by becoming a minister and helping with desegregation. Next, the author mentions that in 1963, the New York Times reported that Malcolm X was the second most sought out speaker in the United States (Biography of Malcolm X). Furthermore, they indicated that Malcolm X helped fight for desegregation, and made rude comments to other people such as Elijah Muhammad. This was critical because some people might not have liked Malcolm X because of his actions, and some people might have loved his for his actions. Malcolm X’s early life could be described as hard. His lifestyle can be described as up and down. Still, Malcolm X’s notable achievements were helping free people from segregation and becoming the NOI minister in Boston Mosque. Malcolm X’s death was unexpected because he was shot fifteen times by Talmadge Hayer, Norman 3X Butler, and Thomas 15X Johnson on February 21, 1965, at the age of 39 It is also important to learn about Malcolm X because he helped many people get out of segregation,kind of like Martin Luther King, Junior.
