Malcolm X's Negative Impact On The US

Malcolm X held a hatred toward white people due to the negative impact they had on his life. Malcolmʻs family was abused by the power of white people. He later was scarred by witnessing numerous amount of cruel acts done by them in his early childhood. In his early adulthood he decided to rebel against the government system and find illegal ways to obtain money. Over the years Malcolm concludes that the Declaration of Independence does not apply to people with colored skin. He does not believe that Thomas Jefferson wrote "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" to apply to all races in the United States.
Malcolm's family was abused by the power of white people. His dad was murdered by the Ku Klux Klan. Malcolmʻs father, Earl Little,

Earl’s civil rights activism prompted death threats from the KKK, forcing the family to move twice before Malcolm’s fourth birthday. The KKK believed that they had the power to show up to his house and threaten his life and his family's lives. They did this a numerous amount of times and they later burnt down his house while him and his family were asleep. Following these events came Earl Littleʻs death. The KKK later beat him and tied him up on the train tracks and waited until a train came to run him over. This was later reported and a white judge handled the case. The judge ruled his father’s death a suicide. There were evidence proving that his dad was killed by the KKK due to the numerous amount of attempts and death threats. His skull was also smashed in from behind before being ran over by the train. His body was found on train tracks. If the judge accused the KKK of murder that would have helped his family with life insurance, but instead the judge decided to accuse his father of suicide. This …show more content…
African Americans would always do the work that no other white man would want to do. Many of their jobs were very hard and took a toll on them. However Malcolm was able to get a job that took him from destination to destination without having to do any crucial labor. This was a well paying job for an African American back then. Although he still has not earned respect from white people. His boss is strict about calling him only by his last name while other white people think of Malcolm as a boy. He cooks and serves them food while being forced to call them “sir” or “maʻam” while he was never even thought of as a man. Malcolm could no longer deal with the presence of white people every day. Once he got fired from his job, he did not bother in going back. He worked as a busboy and made a good impression on the customers and on his employers. With his tips, he begins to invest money in the numbers racket, which was a popular unofficial lottery in Harlem. He learns the names and faces numbers runners. He later meets an assortment of pimps, including one known as Sammy the Pimp, who soon becomes his best friend. Due to hanging around the wrong crowd, he began to take drugs and use that to escape reality. After Malcolm almost faced death with three of the people he worked with, He had moved to discover another illegal way to invest money.
