Fredrick Douglas who was former salve and uneducated, learned basic reading form one of his mistress Sofia Auld. He managed to further his education form outside resources since his wife forbids Sofia form teaching him. Malcom X, who also had semi similar background when it comes to education thought him self-writing in a way he sound literate. Although Malcom X revived education it was very limited since he has to move from time to time as he was kid and he dropped out after his father and white People murdered uncles. Douglas was in time of slavery fighting for freedom while Malcom X was in time where racism was a ferocious and he was fighting for equality. For Fredric Douglas being able to read in time of slavery was like a dangerous fire that would burn him. For Malcom X better education and equality was his struggle. Having access to education wasn’t fair enough, with the operation and racism going on at the time was the only weapon to fight for equality. Both men were strong willed and dedicated to make their dream come to light. The are good examples for breaking the barriers and educate themselves despite the obstacles and hardships they followed. Perusing education and fighting for justice and equality was a life mission for both Fredric Douglas and Malcom X. Reading and writing was a fresh breath a food for their soul. Becoming the better version of themselves was their goal. For Fredric being too wise for a slave, his spirit was lifted with education and always believed things could get better with knowledge. For Malcom writing and expressing himself was a whole new world and something better than being on the streets of crime. Both men achieved their goal through their newfound outlet,
