Malcolm Turnbull's Argumentative Essay

Decent Essays
IT MIGHT be the game that stopped Australia, but Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was more interested in his lunch with Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth than the Grand Final score.
During part of the second quarter, while the 90,000-plus crowd was glued to the game, Mr Turnbull’s MCG seats were empty but not his stomach.

Instead he sat down for a bite to eat, with spies snapping a picture of him chatting to Hemsworth.
The Prime Minister later posted a snap of himself with the Aussie actor to his 211,000 followers on Facebook.
In the caption, he says they talked about “the contribution of the creative sector to our economy, then hilariously notes: “But a bit weird he insisted on me calling him Thor.”

Krakauer mood changes throughout the book/story about how he feels about Chris he says a lot of stuff that he might disagrees and sometimes he agrees with him about it. Krakauer talk a lot of Chris because of the choices he made during the story and how he lived and how he tried to survive in the wild. I will also be talking about how he connects and the opposite of what he says about Chris McCandless. On August 9th, 2014, Michael Brown and his friend Dorian Johnson were walking in the middle of the street when they were approached by a police officer by the name of Darren Wilson. With there being altered stories explaining what happened next rather than choosing one side of the story we can agree that an altercation occurred and it led to the unfortunate death of eighteen year old Michael Brown. Because of the differing stories and videos online, I will not focus on whether I feel like the killing of Michael Brown was justified, but whether the process to indict/or not to indict Officer Darren Wilson was justified and not flawed. Beginning as soon as you read the table of contents of the DOJ report on the Ferguson Police Department…

In a school in Detroit a teacher by the name of Tiffani Eaton tried to stop a fight between two students by hitting both of them with a broom. Because of her actions the school fired her, the students were suspended. In my opinion her punishment was unjustified, although I can understand the other side of the coin. She did cause the students physically and mentally harm. As well as brook the schools policy by not getting security and hitting a student.…

Energy independency has now become an international subject, spreading with radical pioneers who seek independence from the local power grid. Henk Rogers reiterates, through his campaign to run his house on solar electricity and amicable quest to ensure Hawaii's electrical independency by 2045, that energy independency is accomplished when an individual or even a community can successfully supply their own energy needs without assistance from the power grid. Through his tenacious aspiration to encourage residents to go off grid, Rogers has inspired countless residents to become energy independent. In doing so, he has prioritized it as his ‘number one’ objective, insistent to reduce carbon emission from combustible fuels. The key factor that lead him to partake of the clean energy movement was perturbing fact that Hawaii’s hallmark coral reefs are perishing in the increasingly acidic ocean.…

If you were given the chance to experience the life as a Negro for a limited amount of time, would you? Most people probably wouldn’t want to because they have read many stories about how terrible the life of blacks is. However, John Howard Griffin was brave enough to go through this experience. I fully disagree with the critique. Even though Griffin lived as a black for a short period, I still believe that he fully empathized with the black race.…

“Should Australia Day be celebrated on the 26th of January?” Most people think that this date should be changed so it is less offensive to the aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. This is incliuding a man named Chris Graham from Aboriginal Affairs who wrote an article on the 26/1/16 called ‘Change the date; Read this if you want to know why Australia day is offensive’. Chris thinks that Australia Day is an unnecessary reminder of the troubles of the indigenous population and how this represents a deep disrespect towards them. He speaks in both an aggressive and informal tone and supports his contention with a picture of Kevin Rudd after he denied his promise.…

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Sunday bristled at the notion that her boss, President Donald Trump, is racist. “I take a little offense to allegations that the president is racist,” Nielsen said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.” Trump sparked a firestorm of criticism this week when he reportedly questioned why the U.S. accepted immigrants from “shithole countries” in Africa as well as from Haiti and El Salvador during an immigration reform meeting with lawmakers at the White House. The quote was later confirmed by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), who attended the meeting.…

Hungry for Change Why is it that law mandates public school meals have a minimum calorie intake, but not a maximum? This owes itself to the fact that when nutrition standards were established for public schools, it was to solve the problem of undernourishment. The majority of school aged children used to walk to school, played more outside, and were more active in sports. This resulted in children burning more calories than school meals provided.…

What do Australians stand for? Is it that all Muslims should go back to their home country because they are terrorists? Or that equality is an important part of our country and something that we should strive for? I believe that a reasonable percentage of Americans would agree with the first one but here in Australia we strive for a country with equality. To get equality I believe justice, culture and opportunity are a part of what Australians stand for and a first step to equality, you don’t have to agree with what other people’s beliefs are to get equality but you do need to accept them without judgment.…
