At the age of 15, Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen. C. The Taliban decided that girls should not have the right of education, but Yousafzai defied them by secretly attending school and voicing her opinions about their laws on her incognito blog (“Malala Yousafzai Challenges Taliban on Education and Women's Rights in Pakistan, October 9, 2012”).
A. Malala Yousafzai devotion to further women’s education has earned her numerous awards and titles.

Yousafzai became the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and she was awarded with the National Youth Peace Prize, 2011; Simone de Beauvoir Prize, 2013; International Children's Peace Prize, by KidsRights Foundation, 2013. She was also listed as on the TIME magazine’s list of Top 100 Influential People in the World, and published a memoir titled “I Am Malala” (Malala Yousafzai”). C. Her diligence and tenacity to make a difference in the education world defied the expectations set for a young Pakistani girl who was not supposed receive and education at all.
