Introduction: Malala Yousafzai is a teen activist. Her goal since 2007 was for girls to have the ability to go to school and have an education. Unfortunately, in 2012, Malala was on her way home from school and two Taliban gunman shot her.
Malala Yousafzai: Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12, 1997. Today Malala is 20 years old. Malala grew up in the town of Mingora in the Swat District. She grew up with 2 younger brothers, Khushal (14) and Atal (9). Since 2007 Malala always had a huge goal that she set for herself. Her goal was for all girls to have the privilege to go to school. On October 9th, 2012 two Taliban gunman fired at Malala on her way home from school. At this time Malala was only 15. The bullet entered in the upper side of her cheek. Luckily, the bullet didn’t enter her brain. As a child, Malala would always have nightmares about the Taliban. Because of these nightmares, afraid to go to school. The Taliban formed in 1994. For two years the Taliban gained control of most of the country. After the Taliban had gained power of most of the country, the Taliban changed the official name of the country to the Islamic State Of Afghanistan (ISOA). Four years later, the united states accused the Taliban of harboring Osama bin Laden. The Taliban set up their base in southeastern Afghanistan near the border with Pakistan. The reason why they did this was because the Taliban enforced a strict interpretation of Islamic laws, they also did this because most of the group’s members belonged to the Pashtun ethnic group.
