There are crimes that are morally wrong and then there are crimes that are only incorrect because it goes against the law. For example, mala in se means acts that are regarded, by tradition and convention, as wrong in themselves. A few illustrations of mala in se are assault, murder, rape, and murder. Then there is mala prohibita which is Acts that are considered “wrongs” only because there is a law against them. These crimes usually aren’t violent crimes that affect people or individual’s property. Also, most of the mala prohibita offenses are not major crimes it is mostly misdemeanors.
