Imagine, just when you thought you had everything perfect, BAM, you realize that you forgot your pencil. You wonder how you are going to write for the rest of the day. You start playing around with some ink until you realize you can use it to write! And now you go on to inventing a pen! Which is extremely useful for future generations! Maybe making mistakes can lead to discoveries. I think a mistake is key to a great discovery because they force you to see what you would not have seen before. To begin with, in today's society, microwaves are essential and they would have not been here today without the help of a mistake. Percy Spencer left a chocolate bar in his pocket one day while Raytheon was working with his new invention the Magentron. This invention generated microwaves, which they soon discovered gave off a lot of heat. Spencer soon began to notice that the bar of chocolate in his pocket had melted. He asked for some popcorn kernels and placed them near the Magentron's heat. Minutes later, the kernels had popped and had began a whole new process. It took more than 20 years before Raytheon finally perfected the microwave. All thanks to Percy Spencer and his mistake. Imagine if Percy Spencer would not have made that mistakes. We often discover what will do by finding out what will not do; and probably he who never made a mistake never made a discovery." Mistakes can lead to amazing and incredible things. I presume that mistakes are crucial in the process of creating a discovery because they show us what not to do. They show us how not to do something and how to do it by giving us a trial and error run. Who would learn if no one ever made mistakes? Growing up we learn from our mistakes.
