Scenario
Ms. Jill Jones has been part of the Candy Corporation for the better part of two decades. She currently is the Vice-President of Sales and over sees hiring for the company. Currently the CEO, Mr. William Potter, is proposing the succession as the CEO to his son, Mr. Henry Potter. Previously Ms. Jones worked for Mr. H. Potter under a different division of the company. During this tenure Mr. H. Potter unsuccessfully propositioned Ms. Jones causing a corporate realignment to offset an official report being made. Ms. Jones has been asked to objectively review the succession process for Mr. W. Potter to Mr. H. Potter. The two dilemma’s she faces is objectivity and historical ethical conduct.

Interviewing each reference for quality of leadership, professional capabilities, and the ability to adapt to a larger scale mission. Which must back up the submitted resume. In her review of the resume she must objectively review all information provided and ensure it supports the CEO position requirements. If objectivity cannot be given then Ms. Jones should mention her inability to do so to Mr. W. Potter. In doing so he must mention the incident and the reasons that it was not reported at the time of the infraction. Request that the review process for CEO candidates be transferred to another in order to have them reviewed in fairness. And provide a clear course of action to transfer to a location that will allow to continue he services with the company and deflect any considerations or reprocutions. As well as propose recommendations to policy that will ensure company’s desired conduct.
