As diversity continues to grow in our society, the main objective of this project is to reach students, but also every citizen of the United States and of the world, to become aware of the conventional misconceptions about immigrants. We hope to film a creative skit that will effectively show our audience how easily these misconceptions can be created, and also provide our audience with tools to go about solving these issues. Our plan is to make a skit that contains the following qualities: humorous, understandable, and educational. The final outcome that we hope to achieve is to reduce the xenophobic tendencies of our society and contribute to the creation of a more unified society.

I started this project by meeting up with my group members, and sharing different ideas for our skit. We spent about three hours discussing the main elements of our skit until the combination of our ideas satisfied our main objective. After organizing all the ideas, we then proceeded to gather important facts about immigration that would effectively fulfill the educational component of our skit. Next, we gathered all the necessary equipment for our skit and spent some time practicing each of our individual roles. Finally, we began to film the different scenes while making sure we fulfilled every desired component. After filming the scenes, I proceeded to edit all the collected videos by cutting out all the tedious parts and adding more important details to it. After many hours of editing, I was finally satisfied with the final product and posted it on YouTube and Hitrecord. [How did you spend your 15 hours on this …show more content…

Conclusion
The creation of this project was a learning experience for me. Mainly, I learned how powerful an idea can be- how people who share ideas can come together and create something out of nothing. Initially, I approached this project as merely an assignment that had to be completed and didn’t have any concrete ideas of how to approach it. Nevertheless, after conversing with my group members and discussing the misconceptions and stereotypes that affect the lives of many immigrants, I began to experience many emotions that transformed hollow ideas into creative ones. Throughout the creation of this project, I started to invest more time and effort into it as I realized how profound and important the concept of this project was. Additionally, as a result of this project I learned to understand that the only way to fight against social injustices is to bring light upon them, and make people aware of its dangerous
