Every tobacco product is detrimental to your health and there is no such thing as a safe level of tobacco use. So that is another reason why you should quit chewing or snuff, an additional one is your role as a role model to children and adolescents. Whether they are yours or not, children look up to the adults around them and inherit habits that they see them do as well. Research indicates that when the youth associate a particular behavior with certain people or personalities they admire, they are keener to try that behavior because adolescents identify with such people. The most recognized group of individuals that use chewing tobacco are baseball players, and like a lot of other athletes, baseball players are looked upon as role models for children who enjoy the sport.
