Make the Strange Familiar

Cultures were shared value systems of various groups. People adopted to their own culture by experiencing cultural constructions. During this period, their identity as a group member enhanced and gradually developed ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism made them feel familiar about their own culture and felt strange about other cultures. In my opinion, using native people’s own insight was one of the ways to make the strange familiar and avoid ethnocentrism.
