Have you ever had a craving for something sweet in the middle of the night but didn’t want to run to the store? If you have, you are in luck with this easy 7 ingredient sugar cookie recipe. Making cookies can be a fun activity for the family, the kids can decorate them and well the adults can eat them. Sugar cookies could also make a great snack to bring to a small get together. Before gathering your ingredients, you will want to preheat your oven to the temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit. For this easy recipe you will need the following ingredients; 2 ¾ cups of cups of all purpose flour, 1 ½ cup of white sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of softened butter. You should be aware over mixing the sugar and butter, especially with power mixers overmixing could result in the butter becoming more soft than you would need it to be for this recipe. Next you will beat your one egg and one teaspoon of vanilla extract, once you have the two mixed well you will gradually add in the dry ingredients bit by bit. When adding the dry ingredients to the mixture be sure that it is mixed well and there are not lumps or poorly mixed areas.
The third step of this recipe is one the kids of the family will enjoy. After mixing all of your wet and dry ingredients thoroughly it is time to roll out the cookie dough balls. When rolling out your cookie dough balls keep in mind that you are able to rolls these out in whatever size you would like for your cookies to bake into. Your fourth step in this recipe is to place your cookies into your preheated oven. These cookies are expected to bake for eight to ten minutes or until they are a golden brown.
