As we officially go on to high school we will carry on the same responsibilities, expectations, and determination of a flame. And whether you are reluctant or excited to become a maroon, a hornet, a Spartan, a clipper, or even a gopher, you will always have a home at Sargent. This school is our second home, I think we’ve spent more time that we have preferred here than in our actual homes. However, we have learned a lot. Mr. Backé, Mr. Mark and Mr. Tat taught us how to solve for x in an ax=b+cx equation. Mr. Penner and Ms. Manzuik showed us that when you’re trying to get away with murder, do it in the small town of Wells, Carolina in the middle of a hot summer night. And Mr. Harbeck taught us that swearing is bad; therefore find substitute words such as fraction to ease your

Although the divorce done me and my mom bad we both knew we needed to start our own new lives. I remember walking into Dolly high for my freshman year and remembering what it feels like to be known as “The New Kid” or “Fresh Meat”. During my sophomore year, I heard about elections for the president of National Math Honor Society, or NMHS. I was excited as I saw this as the opportunity I had to instill a love of math for my fellow high school peers. Since I had been at the top of my math classes during high school, I anticipated an easy triumph for me, so I imprudently stood idle while my opponents campaigned. My mission while attending Rowan University is to graduate in four years as valedictorian. Becoming valedictorian in college has recently become as goal of mine. A majority of my friends has asked me what I want to accomplish in my four years in Rowan University, and I briefly explained to them that I will deliver the valedictory speech at our graduation ceremony. Becoming valedictorian is an attainable goal that will happen and yes I am aware it will be an arduous process, but from my experiences I have learned nothing is given to us but hard work and determination can assist with our end points in life. Besides, becoming a valedictorian my second goal is to proceed to follow my core belief of selflessness.…

Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…
