The roots of this major racial conflict are found hundreds of years ago, in the early 600s AD with the birth of Islam. Muhammad, the ultimate founder of Islam, used multiple practices already found in Judaism in his newly founded Islamic religion. With this, his intent was to become natural allies with Christians and Jews. However, Muhammad overruled the heavily favored prince of Medina, Abd-Allah ibn Ulayy, which was not an accepted move by the Jewish population around the city. Muhammad was criticized as acting as a false prophet by the Jewish population for trying to enforce that he was the chosen one to lead Medina.
