“Individuals usually develop SAD during adulthood
(average onset occurring in the early 20s). Approximately 10-20% of the population experience mild winter SAD, and nearly 5% develop a more pronounced form of the disorder.” There are two seasonal patterns and one occurs in the fall which is called winter depression. It begins in the late fall and early winter and usually ends in the summer time. The spring pattern of SAD begins in the late spring and early summer time. Light therapy is a good treatment to treat seasonal depression (Massachusetts General Hospital). Postpartum depression can be moderate or severe in a woman who has just given birth. It can happen right after giving birth or up to a year later. On average, it happens after the first three months after having a baby. The causes are unknown, but worrying about if you’re going to be a good mother is a good possibility. Someone has a higher chance of having postpartum if one is under 20, didn’t plan the pregnancy, or has a person in the family who has depression
