Compares to other sports league, the crime rate in NFL is a serious problem. “There are 666 arrests against NFL players from 2000 to 2013. The three most common charges in NFL were DUI, assault/battery (including domestic violence), and drug possession, with 72% of all incidents including at least one of three chargers” (Fischer-Baum, 2013). NFL players has 34% more arrest annual assault/battery charges per thousand players than the general population, 8.3% annual DUI charges per thousand was 81% higher than the U.S. average, and 2.2 weapons charges per thousand was 324% higher chargers (Fischer-Baum, 2013). It is shocking when we looking at data like this, and we have seen NFL change their policy regarding how they handle major crime especially
