Classroom Environment

As a teacher it is my job to provide an environment that is safe, comfortable and that maximizes the opportunity for all students to learn. In this statement, I will describe my strategies for establishing and maintaining a structured environment for optimal learning experiences. Classroom management is an important component to maintain a safe, comfortable and structured learning environment. If students are in a place where they feel safe and comfortable, then valuable learning can take place. When some people think of classroom management they tend to think of strict rules and regulations, but that is not necessarily true. I will provide classroom management through setting the tone of the classroom, by communicating my expectations both academic and behavioral clearly and directly at the beginning of the year. I will prevent behavior problems by engaging the students in activities and work that are challenging and meets the needs of every student. This method will not only keep them out of trouble but it will prevent the students from being bored with learning the content. The comfort of the environment will come for the attitude that I will have, so it is important that I be welcoming, positive, and patient with my students. I will have room decor the will inspire and encourage the students to achieve all things. I will teach my students that there isn’t one thing that they can’t do. In fact, the word can’t is not allowed within the classroom. The students will work together to help each other achieve the highest obstacles. The students as well as I will speak words of encouragement to each other.
