Lucid dreaming is the idea of being consciously aware or the realization of dreaming while in the state of dreaming. To explain lucid dreaming, we first need to examine its basis and the evidence for it. The main components of lucid dreaming are experiencing something unusual or new, analyzing or reflecting it, and concluding that you are dreaming as a result. Comparing lucid dreaming to a regular dream, in a regular dream you don’t question things that are unusual or new. Most people seem to go along with the dream, and lack high levels of critical awareness and analysis, which is the opposite of lucid dreaming. Stephen Laberge, a guest and also one of the first to perform an experiment with lucid dreaming as states earlier says, “I see lucid dreaming as a kind of personal virtual reality using the best computers that we can have available.” Sylvo Frank, a lucid dreamer describes his experience, “It is really something that 's intoxicating. It 's like an elixir. It 's so beautiful. Generally, in a lucid dream, the quality of light is very different, it 's very saturated. It 's, in a way, the atmosphere is "realer" than real. As stated earlier, without the device, the user could have lucid dream only a few times a month. With the device, he became lucid 50% of the time he used it. With or without the use of technology, the ability to get lucid dream depends on the dreamer’s ability to recognize the pattern of lights or object. Also results of the Novadreamer versus a natural induced lucid dream also vary with every person. With the use of this technology, it is already a more effective way to induce dream because it can detect your REM sleep and automatically start flashing lights to help you. Without technology, becoming lucid can depend on what you dream about, if the dreamer even sees the designated pattern of object, and if the dreamer can recognize the object and realize he is lucid
