Gustav Mahler born Bohemia May 7, 1860 was Austrian composer and conductor. He wrote large symphonies and songs and even established orchestras that brought many different sounds of the Romantic era. During Mahler early life him and his family lived in Bohemian village of Kaliste, and then later moved to Jihlava where he spent his childhood and youth. Sadly as a child Mahler experienced many hardships one being he had to go up against racial tensions at an early age. There was even tension at home for Mahler for his dad would abuse his mother because he resented her social superiority.
