Analyzing Coca Cola's Mission Statement

a) A mission statement is a synopsis of the aims, values and intentions of the person. It reflects their strengths, what they strive to achieve and their ethos. I agree that both A and B are personal mission statements. In source A, Mahatma Gandhi states the things that he would like to achieve each day, “I shall not fear anyone on Earth… I shall not bear ill will toward anyone. I shall not submit to injustice from anyone. I shall conquer untruth by truth.” All of these things reflect Mahatma Gandhi’s values, intentions and what he stands for. In source B, Ben Franklin states that he should “Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself… Use no hurtful deceit…” These statements reflect his values, aims and intentions.
b) I prefer Source B, Ben Franklin’s mission statement. His values and goals are clearly defined and explained in

They use words with very positive connotations such as “refresh…spirit… inspire…optimism…create value…” These words tell the consumers that Coca-Cola is a positive company with good values. It shows that their intentions are to make people happy through their product: “To inspire moments of optimism and happiness through our brands and actions.” iv) Coca-Cola aims to “refresh the world in mind, body and spirit.” They want to “inspire” people through “moments of optimism and happiness through their brands and actions”.
