Magnolia City Hospital serves the purpose of providing and improving health care services for the citizens of Columbia County and citizens of Lafayette, Union, Nevada, Ouachita, and Hempstead Counties. It is located in a rural setting, medically underserved, underinsured, with below average socioeconomic and educational level, and in need of superior health care. In Arkansas State, Magnolia City Hospital is the second oldest hospital. Established in 1939, it is an acute care, community based, non-profit hospital that is licensed by the State Arkansas for 70 beds. Each division has a specific task to operate the hospital. The Nursing Division includes, Emergency Services/Customer Service/Trauma Services, Infection Control/Employee Health/Patient Safety, Home Health, Outpatient Services, LDRP/Nursery, Anesthesiology, MED SURG, Surgical Services, Housing Supervisor/ Staffing Coordinator, and ICU/Education/Patient Satisfaction. Also, the Administration Division includes, Human Resources/Managed Care Contracts, Information MGMT, Quality/Risk Management, MRMC Auxiliary, Foundation/Patient Ambassador/Physician Recruit and Liaison and Facility Support Director of Maintenance/Grounds/Emergency MGMT./Environmental Services/Security. The Ancillary Support Division includes, Pharmacy, Respiratory Care (HBO), Radiology, Laboratory and Rehab. Furthermore, the Finance Division includes, two Division Leaders. The first Division Leader operates Revenue Cycle Specialist/Business Office, Continuum of Care (Social Worker) and Health Information MGMT. The Continuum of Care division consist of three women, a social worker and two nurses whom case management the patients in the hospital. Continuum of Care involvement with the hospital consist of the patients care in the hospital and patient discharge.
