Did you know that Magic Johnson is the tallest player ever to play the point guard position? Well, I sure didn’t. Magic Johnson had one of the best sports careers of all time by winning 5 NBA Championships. Over time Magic has become successful on different platforms like the NBA, and in a variety of businesses. Magic Johnson has become successful despite having HIV, a disease for AIDS. Magic Johnson was one of America’s most loved sports figures of all time. According to Encyclopedia.com he was in the NBA for 12 years and and won 5 NBA championships. Magic was born on August 14, 1959, he is 58 years old currently. He also totaled 3 MVP awards, and 3 more finals MVP awards. Magic as a child get up with 9 brothers and sisters that he grew up with. Everything was perfect until 1991. (Johnson, Magic). Those included poverty as a child, and injuries as a professional basketball player. But nothing could compare to this, it ended what his life was based on. He had been diagnosed with HIV, a disease for AIDS according to Biography.com. It would end his career even though he attempted a comeback later and failed. He was devastated that his career was over way too soon (Magic Johnson; Johnson, Magic). However, that wouldn’t hold him back from being successful in life. Despite having HIV and pretty much being put out of the NBA, which was his life. He became a coach and a sports commentator for the L.A. Lakers and later bought part of the team. He also became a spokesperson against HIV/AIDS said Biography.com. He also bought and owns 26 Starbucks, movie theaters, and shopping plazas. He also has his own brand, “Magic Johnson Enterprises.” He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002, and has written 3 books.
