The city of Madrid the capital of Spain is a metropolis with a rich history. The city is located right in the center of Spain and is considered to be one of the liveliest cities. Madrid is a mixture of modern and vintage buildings, making a unique city. When examining the Madrid, there is a sense of the mixed cultures due to the many past cultures that have to settle in this land. The metropolis has many features that separated from other cities, especially some of the historic sites. Spain had a significant contribution in the Industrial revolution and the growing of markets. This is due to exploration the Spanish would do which weren’t the only ones Portugal also explored different avenues. The Spanish had conquered many lands and was making their selves present. They had control of other parts of the country and were using the people as slaves for their benefit. Spain had grown in power due to all the material coming back to their land but instead of benefiting them it was actually creating more problems. The problems that Spain clearly faced was inflation and the fact that they grow in so much power caused them to have enemies. This monarch made a huge impact in the modernization of the city because they focused on sanitizing the city and began many projects to do so. The sanitization projects consisted of improving gardens, fountains and the plazas. Therefore, the current king Carlos III was remembered as the “Best Mayor of Madrid”. This is important to mention since this began to modernize the city and started to attract more people. As Spain began to advance the urban lifestyle was growing. But in the 19th century in Madrid was gloomy times with so many bloody events. One event that had begun at the time was the Spanish war of independence effect much of Spain.
