The tragedy of Hamlet is one filled with superbly foolish situations. Riddled with misunderstandings all centering around the antic disposition, madness and sheer stupidity of its characters. It 's very important that we are able to differentiate between these states of mind. We need to be able to categorize each character into each field because it reveals and explains their actions pretty fantastically. So, it is imperative to ask ourselves, who are the mad ones really? Those with vision who refuse to see, or those who see all and blind themselves as a result? Faced with this question, it is clear that Hamlet is not the mad one in this tale rather everyone around him is mad.

Because he is living in a backwards social construct where he cannot sanely seek justice. An evil person got his way and now has obtained immunity and because of the rules of loyalty to the crown (even though Claudius himself would have committed treason) it has become excusable. Do not try to justify it with well, maybe the other characters were unaware of exactly what the crimes were that Claudius was capable of? Because there is absolutely no way that the idea that Claudius murdered the king did not cross a single mind but for Hamlet 's. The difference? This is not true. It is Hamlet 's lack of madness, his true sense, that allows him to see the truth and everyone’s madness is to credit to chalking up Hamlet 's sense to madness. Really, one cannot blame him. Being the only truly sane one of that bunch is bound to make you act out. Especially in Ophelia 's story of Hamlet acting peculiar in particular, this was without a doubt an act of frustration. It is like Hamlet decided to test those around him. If no one was able to see the madness going on right in front of them, then what could they possibly interpret as mad? What could their definition of crazy really be? What could he do to make someone notice that something isn 't
