One incident that took place at Madera High School and carried on for about 3 years should have been brought to attention and handled before the first month was to come, at most the second. The situation first took place in the cafeteria of MHS. There was a group of friends that were seen to usually sit down at this one particular table, but one day a group of girls sat at the table without permission. The main group got the idea to make the girls feel uncomfortable enough to the point that they would get up and leave, the plan succeeded. The girls all got up and went to a table close by. The primer group then thought it would be funny to watch and stare at the girls even after already having the table. Not understanding why this group was still starring the girls did the wrong thing and started staring back, leaving the first group to get mad. Both crowds would run into one another while exchanging unreasonable looks and inappropriate comments. Guys started joining the first group to pick on these girls for no apparent reason. After a while only one girl was receiving all the looks and comments rather than her and her friends that were present that day in the cafeteria. When it was one on one there seemed to be nothing but silence and a lot of looking down to view the floor, but, when the group was together with three plus individuals then there was no getting peace and quiet at all. This shows how the group only picked on this other MHS student to feel powerful. There was never any physical bullying before so the thought of not getting in trouble was always a reason to keep going to this group.

Until, one day one of the girls from the crowd was going to meet up with her other friends so she decided to bump this girl while she was walking to class to show how “down” she really was. The girls whole body jerked and that is when she had enough of these guys and girls messing with her. She then retaliated fast, by throwing what was in her hand. Which happened to be the top piece of banana that was being eaten. The banana hit the girl in the neck which got her and all her friends furious, shouting out whatever words came to mind. The banana thrower glanced and began laughing while walking to class. When lunch appeared it was raining so the girl and her friend decided to get lunch then hang out inside the Health Science building, which is present at Madera High. Both girls noticed 3 of the male friends appear in a rush then when noticing them, get a sense of joy/relief and then storm off. It was suspicious so the girls started discussing the confusion and what each thought. Before the girls knew it, here came at least 7 girls and 4 guys down the hallway and into the area where the restrooms are located in the building to confront the banana incident. The female that threw the banana had a feeling what all these people were there for so she left her food and electronics on her backpack which was on the floor and stood up. Afterwords, the schoolgirl that bumped the other did not seem to not be as tough as she was before. She stood behind her friends while whispering which female it was that threw the banana earlier. As the crowd approach this girl and her one friend, who was still sitting down on the floor, people started to continuously pass by or stand there being bystanders with phones out ready to record. The main question that was asked, “So why did you throw the banana?” Even though the question was repeatedly answered it seemed to keep being brought up. One of the teachers finally noticed this big group in the building and others with phones out pointing in the direction of where the loud discussion was so decided to stand there while the bell rang to be sure all exited the premises. While leaving, the group wanted a fight so told the individual to meet after school in front of the Joe
