In Francesca Zappia’s Made You Up alex isn’t a normal girl, she has paranoid schizophrenia which results in hallucinations. She has a hard time telling what is real and what isn’t. As she is starting her senior year at a East Shoal High School, after getting kicked out of Hillpark High School for vandalism. She is scared everyone is going to figure out about her condition. As a kid Alex would go to the store with her mom. If she was good she would get a yoo-hoo if she was really good she would get to watch the lobsters in the tank while her mom shopped.
