When Maddie joined orchestra camp, she immediately felt at home, she could make music and hoped to one day write music to express herself. At camp she learned the bare basic of this complicated instrument, and further explored the instrument. Maddie really struggled with all the difficulty, as the violin is a difficult instrument, but she loved the feeling of all the power, how she could do whatever she wanted with the music. A quote that inspired her to Stick to the violin was “I love power. But it is as an artist that I love it. I love it as a musician loves his violin, to draw out its sounds and chords and harmonies” - Napoleon Bonaparte. Maddie's first performance was called “ French folk song “she oved it, she said “i was nervous even though it was only a couple of people, but as soon as I was started playing it came naturally”. The following school year Maddie joined the orchestra at her school “ middle school” she loved it, she made new friends, caught up with old friends, all the while doing something she really liked to do! A part of the reason orchestra was so fun for Maddie is that she got to express herself through music, and that is one of her most treasured passions. Later on in the year Maddie got a chance to do a solo in a whole school assembly, the song was “ minuet 2” and her solo was 2 minutes, and she nailed it! By the time 7th grade rolled around Maddie was a great violinist , and she was about to move to St.charles and go to Thompson Middle School, and was scared that she would not be able to pursue her love of the violin. When Maddie enrolled at her new school, she was happy to see that they had an even more advanced music program, she was thrilled!
