I started off by researching the costs of owning a franchise at school. Then at home I started the franchise mode on Madden 16 to simulate what it is like to own a sports franchise. After that I interviewed the Senior Vice President of the Columbus Blue Jackets front office, to get further insight on what goes on inside a sports franchise and also what other jobs there are in a sports franchise. It impacted the way that I viewed sports franchises greatly. My project in my eyes was a success not because of how my virtual team did, but because of how my point of view changed. At first it was just two teams going up and down a court, field, or rink trying to score on each other to win, now it is so much more complex and detailed than before.
