These traits are of great cruciality for they are the factors which create social order and, therefore, keep us on top of the food chain. But what exactly is character? These influences may not appear to be evident, but they can inspire and evoke an emotion that can dictate an individual’s actions. With these evoked emotions, the background of an environment is given the power to influence the mindset of an individual to engage in activities that are uncharacteristic of a person. Some argue that this phenomenon is the main reason why an individual would commit degenerate acts. Mad Max: Fury Road is a spectacular film, and while it may not seem to be the most thought-provoking movie, there is a lot of hidden depth that can be discovered. Performing more than just a cursory viewing allows one to see the hidden themes and ideals presented in a seemingly vacuous movie, and looking past the dust and explosions allows one to see the characters develop along with the setting and landscape. The most prolific use of imagery in this movie is not even in the visual effects, which are spectacular, but in the sound.
