In a crisis, most people resort to combining together to make a group. There are different types of crises such as economic, environmental, internal or personal. The two most common ways people respond to any type of crisis is to either take it on as an individual or, to form a group to get through the problem.

In the movie Mad Max, the protagonist Max who is in the crisis unaccompanied at the beginning has to come together with a group to achieve what he wants. The Tribe Who Left responded to the crises, by giving themselves a false hope of leaving their desert home to travel on foot in the desert to the city. This false hope they had been almost the death of them. When they let their dreams get in the way, they fall into the quicksand and end up losing a member of the Tribe because they were too persistent with reaching the city to listen to Max.

Max was affected by Freak’s death in many ways. He became depressed because he lost the person who was always there for him. They went on many adventures together, and conquered the world together. When Freak died, Max was so depressed he couldn’t deal with it because Freak was a big part in his life. A piece of evidence to support this is, as the text states, “I hid in the down under for days and days and kept the door closed, which is why I missed the funeral and Fair Gwen going away” (Philbrick 158).…

As Helen Keller once said, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you will not see a shadow.” This can also mean that the most effective way of getting through a crisis is to have a positive outlook, and not to focus on the negatives. In Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl — a series of journal entries that Anne Frank wrote while she and her family were hiding from the Nazi regime — Anne attempts to have a positive attitude no matter what the circumstances.
