Mad About You: The Life Of J. Kudrow

After gaining the experience and acknowledgments as an accomplished member of The Groundlings, Kudrow secured a role in a bantam production called The Ladies Room. Then she scored a reoccurring part as a character named Ursula in the comedy, Mad About You (1992). Ursula was somewhat of an simple and unsophisticated individual but it gave way to other roles. NBC was absolutely sold on Kudrow's abilities. You could say that the NBC network was instrumental in getting Kudrow to apply for more gigs. She took that advice and Kudrow kept it moving and got work appearing in Cheers, Life Goes On, Newhart and Coach. Kudrow auditioned for the character of Roz on Frazier but she was not selected. This goes to prove that some times “no” can be a good thing. It proved to be best decision because it allowed her to be free to take part in the award winning comedy show, Friends in '94. This provide steady work for the actress. Kudrow played the roles as a dumb blond so well that people actually believed she was like the people she portrayed. It was an amazing honor to be nominated for an Emmy but in 1998, she actually received the award she was previously noted for. In addition to the Emmy, Kudrow was recognized for her performances by the Screen Actors Guild which made its debut in 1995, The American Comedy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. The American Comedy Awards annually honors a wide range of comedians across the world. It is safe to say that Kudrow was now living the life she desired
