Macho Monologue

Echo I hadn’t seen the door before. It wasn’t there last night. Cautiously, I turned the handle. I knew I shouldn’t have done it though because the next thing I knew I was plummeting into a dark and empty room, that’s if it even is a room, pretty sure I just fell into the void because of how long I was falling. I can’t even describe what I can see looks like because it’s nothing, not black nor white. Heck I’m sure if I could look around I wouldn’t even see my own body. It feels like I’m in the most famous song on vocaloid called ECHO. With how I can’t see a thing and everything is just a mess of nothingness,

I was over ecstatic when Fernando, (also known as Fernie) my best guy friend asked me to go on a walking adventure with him in our hometown of Kelseyville, California. We started off the day by walking in the forest alongside of Kelsey Creek. This forest has a really big meaning to Fernie and I, because we both love nature in every aspect and these walking adventures are not uncommon to us. Starting on the path we both got lost in our own thoughts, I got distracted by looking above me at the the canopy the tree branches created. My eyes followed the patterns the sunlight was creating as it broke through the leaves and cascaded onto the uneven forest floor.…

I feel nothing and take a few more steps forward, becoming more confident in my stride. I don’t know where I’m going, but at least I’m going somewhere. I’m still walking forward when an ear splitting creaking noise forces me into a crouch, my hands covering my ears. It sounds like steel pipes scraping against each other, like an old mansion shifting under the pressure of standing for so many years, it sounds like these things but amplified an infinite number of times. The sound is coming from everywhere at once, I feel like it’s even coming from inside me, from a dark place I didn’t know existed until right now in this moment.…
