The Prince “must” manipulate and deceive others to ensure that he controls the power in the kingdom and also ward off others that try and overthrow him. Whereas Niccolo Machiavelli’s perspective on government is that only the strongest survive and can obtain power, Hobbes perspective on government is that the people should have a say in the “leader” that they will have to obey and follow in the future.
