Killing a person is enormously hard for most people to coop with. No one suspects Macbeth as the killer which helped him to become king, but he never fully got over what he had done. Lady Macbeth practically planned the whole murder and Macbeth only had to carry it out, but that still left a huge mark on him. It also left a big mark on Lady Macbeth. She, like her husband, would become crazy before the end of the story. The murder showed that Macbeth would do anything to have power and would do even more to be able to keep it. It may have been Lady Macbeth who convinced Macbeth to start down the path into killing, but Macbeth was the one who decided to keep killing more and more. She was only the person who initiated the first killing of the king, she didn't expect him to try to kill anyone who had the right to take away the throne from Macbeth just because he was scared of losing everything he had gained. Soon after Macbeth becomes king is when the reader, or viewer, begins to notice the signs that Macbeth is going crazy. He starts becoming threatened by everyone. Macbeth is paranoid that someone will figure out what he has done and will take the throne away from him. Some people do begin to suspect him, but never say anything about it. He knows that he is safe for the most part, so he decides to fight to make sure he stays king when Macduff attacks him. Macduff turns out to be the man who was not born from a women and ends up killing Macbeth. Macduff even told Macbeth about his, but Macbeth didn't care. The witches prophecy had close to no effect on him after he learned that Macduff had not been born, but instead had been cut out of his mother. Macbeth wanted the throne and in his crazy state, his mind didn't register that he could and most likely would die by Macduff's sword.
