Macbeth by William Shakespeare is a thriller/tragedy play that includes the main protagonist, Macbeth. Macbeth is an ambitious and a valiant soldier who devotes his loyalty toward the king, Duncan. In Act 1, scene 2, the Captain reports to the king how Macbeth fought “as cannons overcharged with double cracks…doubt[ly] redoubled strokes upon the foe.” (I.ii.37-38). As the play progressed, he grew more ferocious and easily influenced by the three witches; told “Macbeth, that shalt be King hereafter” (I.iii.50). He began to show evidence of vulnerability after Three witches and Lady Macbeth appealed Macbeth with illusions, making him rethink on his decision; to assassinate Duncan and take over his position.
