Someone gets a promotion and believe that they are better than everyone beneath them. They are less friendly to the ones that were playing in the same plain field. Two people can be set along the same path but can take two completely different routes to obtain the goal they are trying to reach. Some are patient and some are eager and take the path that ends in total self-destruction. Macbeth and Banquo are motivated by power, personal ethics, and loyalty. Macbeth faith in the three witches’ and the prophecy enables him to commit treason against Scotland and the and the king, of course he was aided by his cunning wife lady Macbeth for she was the one who thought of the plan. “The raven himself is hoarse that croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan under my battlements (Shakespeare 334)”. To kill a king takes serious courage, courage Macbeth didn’t fully have. Even today individuals may not have the audacity to commit a crime such as this and may need someone with more of a blinded eye to reality, even lady Macbeth called upon a spirit of darkness to blind her from what she is about to do. “Come, you spirit that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me, from crown to the toe, top-full of direst cruelty! Make thick my blood, stop up th’ access and passage to remorse (Shakespeare 334)”. Once word is out that king Duncan has been murdered Banquo is suspicious about how Macbeth obtained these titles. “Thou hast it now: King, Cawdor, Glamis, all as the weird women promised, and I fear thou play’dst most foully for’t (Shakespeare 361)”. Banquo and Macbeths friendship is shaken just from encounter from the three witches but just not from the witches but also from the change of Macbeths morals and values. Macbeths evil ambition brings chaos to Scotland but also the friendship he has with Banquo. Macbeth is now threated by Banquo but not only Banquo himself but Banquo’s prophecy. “….
