In the story of Macbeth, we witness a man that is full of ambition that lets that same ambition ultimately lead to his own death. The character of Macbeth is portrayed as a strong willed person with a fatal flaw, being that he is never satisfied with what his accomplishments. Macbeth's desire to be in control takes over and he persuades himself to commit violent acts. While Macbeth was at fault for his own downfall, the things he did were not done out of evil spirit, but more so on impulse. His ambition drove his longing to be king and that caused him to do anything to gain his throne. His courageous personality prompted his actions and forced his hand because of the goal he wanted to accomplish, which was to be King of Scotland.
Macbeths intentions were originally pure and he was once a great and respected soldier, that is until his wife, Lady Macbeth, persuaded him to do the unthinkable. After Macbeth´s first murder, we witnessed his true character, he regretted the horrible thing he did which was prompted by greed. Macbeth´s character degenerated more and more as the plot continued and we saw more of his evil tendencies, we noticed that he was willing to do anything to keep the throne and to pass on the throne to his offspring. Macbeth got so caught up in his own pride and ambition, that he even loss the companionship of his wife. He wanted so hard to please Lady Macbeth and also prove his manhood, he sacrificed himself as long as the loyalty he owed to Scotland as king.
