Macbeth Tragic Hero Research Paper

Do you think that Macbeth had the characteristics to be recognized as a tragic hero? A tragic hero is a man of noble stature. A tragic hero has outstanding qualities and greatness about himself. Tragic hero’s main characteristics are that they are noble, they are not all evil, has talent that makes him great, share responsibility of his down fall, and makes the audience feel some type of pity. I believe that Macbeth was all the characteristics to be classified as a tragic hero. Macbeth shows that he is noble in many ways. “O valiant cousin! Worthy gentlemen!” says the king. Macbeth was born into the noble family. King Duncan and Macbeth are cousins. This is the first reason that Macbeth is considered a tragic hero. “Is this a dagger which I see before me?” Said Macbeth. He could not believe that he was preparing to kill his cousin, King Duncan. His wife Lady Macbeth talked him into killing Duncan. He regretted killing Duncan because his conscious beat him up. Macbeth’s qualities that make him great is his warrior skills. “For brave Macbeth—well deserves that name—“says the captain. He was the hero of the war in the beginning of the play which granted him Thane of Cawdor. He was already Thane of Glamis. He eventually got greedy and killed King Duncan to take the crown. As said by the witches “fair is foul and foul is fair” If he would have been patient and gotten the crown the right way. He eventually got killed by Macduff because Macbeth killed Macduff’s entire family. The audience felt pity for Macbeth because he let other people control him. He never wanted to kill King Duncan but he was pulled in by peer pressure. Lady Macbeth talked him into killing Duncan to get to the thrown quicker. If he wouldn’t have listened to Lady Macbeth and just waited his whole life would’ve changed. I believe the story would’ve had a better
