In the course of the play Macbeth more than once cannot understand his feeling of guilt of what he has done. He deals with his guilt; to face it directly by continuing on with worse crimes letting him have little sanity left in his body. In contrast, Lady Macbeth knows the difference oh which Macbeth could not figure out him.
She try’s to put off her feelings of guilt by canceling out her thoughts, what she knows is right what is wrong. Lady Macbeth asks Macbeth to retrieve her some water "and wash this filthy witness from your hand" (2.1). He turns her down, saying, "What hands are here. Ha! They pluck out mine eyes! Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood Clean from my hand?" (2.1.). She say, "a little water clears us of this deed" (2.1.) showing that the clean hands would hide the act of the crime that they have just committed to others. Around half way into the play, Lady Macbeth cannot maintain her control over her husband and the power to represent of her own feelings and her thoughts about everything that has happened. When Macbeth leaves to go against Macduff's army with his own, Lady Macbeth is left with no one else, she things the built up of guilt has to be due to
