In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, four themes were expressed throughout the play. First it was ambition as Macbeth got rid of everything in his path in order to become a successful king. Next was power, as he used his new achievements to become a frightful king. The third theme was fate where Macbeth had to choose whether his actions will allow him to reach his destiny. And lastly free will where Macbeth would have to make those choices without the say of others. All four themes all are affiliated with each other and corresponds to Macbeth characteristics through the play.

He fears him because he wonders that Banquo may go to distance to get what he wants. His ambition then made him send three murderers to assian Fleance and Banquo which they failed. Hecate a devious witch that ruled the witchcraft world, and the three prophecy witches. Her ambition soon affects Macbeth life as soon as she realizes the potential Macbeth may have on knowing all the details from his prophecies. Hecate ambitions were to trick Macbeth mind into thinking that he was the most powerful man in the world, making her look evil and the controller of the fates of mankind. As for Macduff, a man who took his ambition to all limits to prove Macbeth wrong. It started by a murder that caught everyone by surprise except for Macduff who knew that there was something shading going on. In Act 5 Lady Macbeth suffered from the pressure of holding in the secret they hid from the town, fast forwarding to her suicidal death the audience see the type of women she expressed externally than who she really was internally. But Lady Macbeth also had other scene where her free will v.s. her ambition were tested. When King Duncan was sleeping over at Macduff plaza you see the thoughts she had over the planned murder as if she was thinking about ways how they both would survive this treachery act. Lady Macbeth also expressed during this scene that with ambition, power and free will a person can still have an heart, and when she said that the reason why she didn’t kill King Duncan herself was because he resembled her
