Macbeth: The Most Important Thing In Theatre

Improved Essays
I have learned a lot of things this year in Theatre. One of the most important things that I have learned is not to block out. If you block out in OAP you will have points deducted and will definitely not win. Another thing is, don’t ever say goodluck. If you want to tell somebody goodluck during oap, you have to say “break a leg”.
That is the appropriate way to say it. If you are wanting to be in theatre, you have to know to never whistle. whistling is bad luck during one act play. Macbeth is also a bad thing in theatre. don’t ever say macbeth or you will have bad luck.
The reason is that there was a scottish play called macbeth and there is a lot of history behind it. if you are acting in theatre and you are waiting for your part to come

You need to read your lines and study how your character talks, walks, thinks, etc. When you are acting you need to make sure that you NEVER,NEVER,NEVER break character, even if you forget your lines. I learned that the Beckville theatre has a ghost. Her name is Emily and she haunts everyone that enters the auditorium. I learned different types of stages. They are: a Proscenium stage, a theatre in the round, and many more. I have learned a lot over my first year of theatre. I have also seen many cool plays and helped with our play preparation. When watching different play I have learned that you have to have a real passion for acting and that it's something that you constantly have to work on and practice. Our cast this year was amazing, they did a great job putting this together and had an awesome performance. I think that our cast, if they stick together, will be great in the years to come and have a good chance of winning. Mrs. McGowan... you were the real MVP of the whole operation. Without you OAP would be impossible in our Beckville school district. I didn’t have to be a part of the cast to know that you put in twice as much work and effort into OAP than anyone else and that you care and have the most dedication than anyone in the theatre department. Thank you for a great

Through my attendance of a rehearsal a few weeks prior to the performance I garnered a general idea of what to expect. Throughout the duration of the rehearsal most of the actors seemed extremely familiar with their roles in terms of lines and stage directions. Most of the rehearsal was just making small tweaks to make the actors more comfortable and working on the fluidity of the stage directions. For example working on certain stage directions so actors were not in the way of each other when another actor had a stage direction. I approached this experience with a very open mind, and the time spent learning about theater in the classroom helped immensely with the understanding of this production.…

Since everyone has begun settling in further with the play (One Flew over the Cuckoo’s nest) we as actors have moved into a new stage of the process of putting on a show. That stage is trying to find motivations for our characters to basically figure out why they act or do something a certain way. The group has been putting on vigorous amounts of work allowing them to propel forward with their characters, and allowing themselves to play with how they would be if they were the ones to step into these shoes of the character. Another idea that has been thrown around earlier this year is line memorization. It isn’t that we haven’t learned our lines in previous shows, but lines are required much earlier than usual.…

I was able to see a different approach on how to grab the audience’s attention from the other director’s performance. The scene at the same time was very comical, but also held you on the edge of your seat with its high tension and wonderful transformation of a relationship between two characters on stage. This really grabbed my attention and taught me that a transformation of a relationship on stage really enriches the performance. Overall, the knowledge I gained from this activity in class really helped me establish a foundation and base for the mechanics of…

Elizabethan Theatres, And How Theatres Have Changed Theatre, like most things, has evolved over the years, and is vastly different from what it was five hundred years ago. Macbeth by William Shakespeare was written during the Elizabethan era, which had playhouses which are very different from twenty first century theatres. The first Elizabethan playhouse in England was built in 1576, just outside of London’s city boundaries. Simply named The Theatre, this building lead way for The Curtain, The Swan, The Rose, and The Globe (Rea).…

Question #1: I enjoyed learning about blocking, monologues, interior monologues and the lighting board over the course of this semester. Blocking was a concept that was introduced in grade nine drama, and I really got to expand and learn more about it in grade ten drama. I experienced how to properly stage a scene and to make it look natural. I learned the importance of the beginning staging and the ending of a scene, for example walking in at the beginning of a scene or starting on stage and deciding to walk off or not. In The Little Sister Play, in an anorexic scene, the blocking was done in a very effective way by starting on stage in the bathroom, very casually and rushing off stage once the bell rang and it was time to go to class.…

I understand that with many people in a play it’s hard to make all of the voices clear, but when some of the actors were talking I couldn’t make out what they were trying to say. The quiet voices made it harder to follow the smaller plot line of the play. “I find that a rising problem in today’s dramas is that actors…

“Which thou esteem’st the ornament ofe life and live a coward in thine own esteem.” The story of tragedy, disrespect, and no loyalty. Thinking about the question can help you find out if you actually know this and in reality having second thoughts about it. It will also help you stutter less if you think about how you will say it before you start talking and saying things like “um..., uh..., etc.” especially when you say it way more than 3 times or don’t actually. Of course, it will also be fun and new friends or just knowing others is great, most of the time in theater you get to show your goofy, and stupid side so you won’t be so worried when it comes to class most of them might already be planning on doing the same thing anyway. Most likely people will come up to you during the activity, so you don’t have to worry about having no friends in there or that you’re too shy to talk to anyone voluntarily, and making tons of new friends is fun and easy or even just people fining cool enough to talk to.…

There are many elements that come together to create the show and as a performer there are several things that can be done to make the rehearsals leading up to it an effective use of time. What does theatre mean to me? As I review the questions provided for me to include in my goal statement, I feel lucky to express how theatre is unique to me and how I structure my everyday life around the dramatic arts. Anytime I act, I relish in the opportunity to be a leader, to help people, and to accomplish my actions with confidence. I started off with this philosophy at an early age and have not forgotten about it since. In my opinion, acting is not solely about the individual’s performance, but about how an individual actor can use their confidence and passion to impact other actors, enhance a production, and inspire the audience.…
