He is a reckless social climber who was a fool to fall for these things. Macbeth should’ve realised from the start that seeing witches is unholy and therefore unnatural to see, his wife was crazy to think and encourage him to kill his way to throne and think that no one will stop him was a brave and overconfident thought to have. After seeing the witches for the first time and then have them give you four apparitions later on about the future is a step too far that he should’ve known that if they were right the first time, doesn’t mean that they’ll always be right. These were all things that helped me decide that I agree that he was responsible for his own downfall as he could’ve resisted some of the temptations and also that you can never do bad things and think nothing bad will happen
