The author Shakespeare wrote a play titled The Tragedy of Macbeth, which took place in Scotland. In the story, the main character, Macbeth goes on a destructive path, craving the throne of Scotland. The central theme is a group of characters ambitious pursuit for the throne of Scotland. To begin with, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth show ambition and determination for the throne. Macbeth shows ambition by listening to the witches. Macbeth allows the witches words to control his thoughts and make him participate in actions he wouldn’t normally participate in. The next character that shows ambition is Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is an ambitious woman that steps up takes charge when need be. Such as when Macbeth isn’t sure about the murder he is partaking in. Lady Macbeth provides the emotional support Macbeth desires and needs to make his cruel actions succeed. Another quote is: “Consider it not so deeply”.(Scene 2, Act 2, Line 29) This quote represents how Lady Macbeth assists Macbeth emotionally when he expresses guilt for killing Duncan.
