Macbeth Interview
“Good evening everyone! I am here with the great, famous and fearless general Macbeth. He has just recently been deemed Thane of Cawdor! Congratulations on the news! So how do you feel about receiving this position, were you surprised?”
We started off by trying to make Macbeth feel comfortable and make him feel like the center of attention so that he will be more willing to talk. Having small talk with him will make him more open and give him the chance to brag about himself and his work. Then we asked him how he felt about being named Thane of Cawdor and how surprised he was. The reasoning for this question was so he could express if he was shocked by the news. We are trying to get Macbeth to talk about the prophecies, that were given to him previously, to the reporter and hint towards how he almost knew that he would be named Thane of Cawdor. This then could lead to how he thinks he could potentially become King. Therefore we expect Macbeth to answer that he had a “feeling” he would become Thane. …show more content…
Many people believe that you’re destined to become King due to the fact that you have accomplished many courageous acts during the war. Do you believe your fate is to become King?”
We lead up to this question by reminding Macbeth that the King will be choosing a successor soon. Then we storked his ego by telling him many people think he is destined to become King even though we do not know that information. This was to make him admit how he believes he is going to take the throne because he has the public’s support. We utilized the the word “fate” for the purpose that he would think about the prophecies the witches told him. Thus, Macbeth will tell us becoming King is his fate.
