The book Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, addresses the impact of ambition on a person's character and how one can change when tempted with power. The story focuses around eleventh century Scotland’s nobles, one of which is tempted with the chance to be King. The temptation of power can cause irrational and irresponsible decisions to be made by those who are tempted. Ambition causes a person to act irrationally and irresponsibly in order to reach their desired goal.
The temptation of power can cause a person to act irrationally in order appease their longing for control. Macbeth writes to his wife about his chance to be king of Scotland and concludes that he must kill King Duncan to become the next king. Macbeth is at first
